Our Visitor

On Monday, The Hounds worked hard to make Sight Word Sam. They had to write sight words on scrap paper and read them to a teacher before crumbling them up and stuffing them into Sam.

Fall Funtastic Friday

Our Funtastic Friday activities for the day included:  Halloween candy sink or float, leaf rubbings, and scarecrow cookies.  We had a blast!

Christopher Columbus

In fourteen hundred ninety-two, Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
........and on October 17th, our Little Leopard Community learned all about it.

We studied the globe to find our where he set sail from, where he thought he was going, and where he ended up. We discussed that he really wasn't the first person to travel the Atlantic, but we still celebrate what he accomplished.  In one classroom, students made a snack that showed the three ships sailing across the ocean.  In another room, they followed step by step directions to draw one of the ships. In the third room, they attempted to make a ship out of playdough that would actually float.
