Funtastic Farm Day

We had an AWESOME day!  Thanks to all those who came out to show off their stuff. I tried to capture the day with photos as best I could. 

We began the day by reading The Little Red Hen and making bread in a bag. I didn't get pics of the kids actually making the bread, but here are the loaves ready to rise.

If you look closely, you can see that this baby has painted hooves to match her pink bandana.

All of these roosters have been bullied. They're being raised in a special house for bullied roosters until they get big and strong.

The one on the left doesn't have a comb because it's been pecked off by other roosters. :(

The great egg in a bottle experiment.  The theory is that by heating the air inside the bottle a vacuum is created.  The egg is sucked down into the bottle without damaging it.  

But....we had a difficult time getting the fire to stay lit long enough to heat the air in the bottle.

You can see one egg in the bottom of the jar. Mrs. Martin had to come show us how it was done.
